The EU Referendum Count 2016

Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve the ‘Brexit’ vote

A big thank you to everyone in North Dorset and around the country who helped us achieve this historic “Brexit” vote!

Thank you to the many UKIP supporters and members who helped in the EU Referendum campaign in North Dorset, contributing to achieve a decisive local ‘Leave’ result 23,802 (56.4%) against 18,399 (43.6%) for Remain.

This against the combined efforts of the establishment forces of Conservatives ‘In’, Lib Dems and Labour and our pro-EU MP, Simon Hoare, as well as the national government machine made this a great result for ‘People Power.’

A huge effort was put in by so many, and here the turnout was almost 80% compared to a little over 70% in the General Election in North Dorset last year. Locally, this was UKIP’s victory, as all the effort and money was put in by our supporters.

Whilst we make up a small part of the UK, we did our bit to contribute to a decisive national majority of 1,269,501 in favour of the UK becoming a proud and free, democratic, self-governing nation once again.

We now need to build up UKIP to keep the crumbling establishment parties on their toes, and make sure they implement the majority decision of the people.
